Breaking Diptych - First exhibited during Chrism Mass in Enniscorthy Cathedral, commissioned for the International Eucharistic Congress, 2011
'Breaking' has now been permenently installed in Enniscorthy Cathedral, County Wexford. 2012
As the sun sets in a lancet window
of Annacurra Church
a lone nun kneels in the Convent
of Adoration.
And at night he took the bread,
blessed it, broke it,
gave it to his disciples saying
'take this, all of you.'
On Christmas morning by
Tacumshane Lake
an ancient chalice is raised,
while in Riverchapel the rising sun
breathes ressurrectionon a
morning congregation.
Through mass paths near Camolin
and to a mass rock in Murntown,
we have come to you Lord to
break bread.
From North to South and East to West,
from sunrise to sunset.
Bless us Lord as you blessed the bread
and take us deep into the heart of divine life.
Heal us in our brokenness
that we may serve you through
our brothers and sisters and find
joy in our giving.
May your Holy Spirit inflame our hearts and may your loving presence lead us always Lord,
as the lighthouse at Tower of Hook guides lonely sailors home.
